About the Master Fassi Tile Artisan (Maâlem)
Rooted in the historic Medina of Fez, our traditional atelier practices Naqsh ‘ala Zellige (النقش على الزليج البلدي الفاسي)—the ancient art of hand-chiseling authentic Moroccan mosaic tiles. With decades of passed-down mastery, every geometric star, floral motif, and intricate border is carved individually using a specialized hammer (manqarch). We do not produce factory tiles; we craft living heritage.

Our 1.5-hour zellige workshop Fez is designed for travelers and craft lovers seeking a unique cultural activity. During this zellige workshop Fez experience, you will discover clay preparation, traditional pattern tracing (Rasm), and hand-chiseling using the specialized hammer (manqarch).
